1930's glamour

Tyler Parker

my time period was the 1960's in las vegas, specifically show girls

here are my sketches:

jessica

these are compositions i made with existing photographs to help me figure out looks and composition. i'm still practicing sketching on paper because i'm really rusty. my place is 1850s america dust bowl or homesteaders and prairies / early american farming.

Laura's Sketches

Neatherlandic-Farmy-Girls. The top ones are just sketches of the colors / main idea of the outfits I took from the Japanese book "FreshFruits" published by Phaidon. Going to add some patterns to the clothes that i didn't use in the sketches... The drawing below is the finished background drawing (but i'm not actually finished with the color as you can see ) ... I'll have the refrence photos up during monday's crit.

Jane's Illustrations

The theme that I chose was California during the 1960's. The First image is inspired by trees and driftwood, the second is kelp inspired, the third is obviously the Bay Bridge, and the fourth is a bottle of wine.

Becca's sketches

So, the theme is 40's-50's influenced dresses, and originally the setting was going to be in the kitchen, i.e. stereotypical housewives, but now I'm oscillating between that and a younger setting, such as an ice cream parlor or the like.

Anyways, sketches. I'll have some backgrounds worked out by monday, these are studies of the dresses and designs for the models.
